Dr. Yip received his BSc in Statistics with First Class Honours, MPhil in Risk Management Science, and PhD in Medical Sciences from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). During his PhD study, he joined the University of Maryland, Baltimore as a visiting research fellow. He then received postdoctoral training at CUHK. He currently works on healthcare databases and big data approaches for risk stratification in patients with chronic hepatitis B or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. He has been awarded the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme in 2016-2019, the Young Investigator Award of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver in 2018 and 2022, and the Early Career Investigator Award in Clinical/Translational Science of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases in 2020.
