Since 2004, my team has a number of influential papers on the natural history and treatment of peritoneal dialysis related infections. On behalf of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, I am responsible for the preparation of the latest guidelines on the treatment and prevention of peritoneal dialysis related infections, which were published in 2011. I received the John Maher Award from the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis in 2012 as recognition of his work in this area.
