research
My main research interest is in the understanding of epidemiology, pathogenesis and treatment of co-morbidities in people living with HIV infection. I have conducted research exploring subclinical atherosclerosis, fatty liver disease and liver fibrosis, kidney tubular dysfunction, and diabetes and insulin resistance in HIV-infected patients.

I also did work on new diagnostic tools to aid early diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary and extra-pulmonary tuberculosis in hospitalized patients. Our research team is also involved in research to evaluate strategies in optimizing antimicrobial use.
