Postdoctoral/Research Assistant Professor Position in Socio-Cultural and Affective Neuroscience LabCandidates are being considered for a funded postdoctoral or?research?assistant?professor position in the laboratory of Dr. Siyang Luo in the Department of Psychology at the?Sun Yat-sen?University?at?Guangzhou, China?(http://psy.sysu.edu.cn/).??
The overarching mission of the lab is to have a deep impact on the fields of?socio-cultural and affective neuroscience.?The focus of this position will be to support on-going projects aimed at understanding how social/cultural environment interact with neurobiological factors to shape human affective process and related behaviours. This highly interdisciplinary research merges biological (genetic, pharmacology), neuronal (fMRI, EEG, TMS, tDCS) and psychological data to understand the gene-brain-behaviour-society loop. There will be opportunities to become involved in other projects?and to develop new analytic strategies. We are particularly excited about candidates with a strong background in Genome Wide Association Study or fMRI/EEG methods or other kinds of computationally intensive signal processing (e.g. machine learning), but will also consider those with expertise in other areas of affective/cognitive neuroscience or data science/scientific programming.?

Requirements and Skills
???? Excellent master degree and doctoral degree in psychology, cognitive science, biology,?computer science, biomedical engineering, physics or in an equivalent discipline
???? Experience neuroscientific methods (fMRI, EEG, TMS or tDCS) and/or in?genetics
???? Programming skills in Matlab, experience in advanced statistical analyses and in behavioral modeling will be of great advantage
???? High motivation and interest in interdisciplinary collaboration in a versatile research environment
???? Excellent English (in speaking and writing) and computer skills
?
We want someone who is comfortable teaching themselves new techniques and who can jump right into doing science, so decent-or-better coding and statistical skills are mandatory.?
