摘要:为更好地了解更新世早期巨猿生活时期的古环境,对广西田东布兵盆地吹风洞21颗哺乳动物化石牙釉质进行了C、O稳定同位素分析。结果显示,牙釉质δ13C值为-12.8 ‰~-18.1 ‰,平均值-15.2 ‰,暗示吹风洞巨猿动物群主要以C3类食物为食;根据C3和C4植物种类及分布规律,吹风洞所在区域古环境以森林为主;δ18O值为-6.4 ‰~-9.3 ‰,平均值为-7.8 ‰。各种动物δ18O值存在差异,反映了不同种属动物之间存在食性差异。比较更新世早期不同纬度巨猿动物群同位素数据,包括龙骨洞,巨猿洞、么会洞、岩亮洞、三合大洞,显示巨猿生活的更新世早期,气候较为温暖,其古生态环境是以森林环境为主。吹风洞哺乳动物牙釉质稳定同位素数据暗示更新世早期巨猿动物群喜欢生活在C3植物为主的森林环境,可能源于其对食物和栖息环境的特殊喜好。

Abstract:The Chuifeng Cave(23°34'27″N, 107°00'22″E), southeastern of the Bubing Basin in west Guangxi, Southern China, is located in a limestone tower about 77 m above the local valley floor near the Hetang Village and 16 m below the hill top. Chuifeng Cave penetrates the hill from southeast towards northwest, being 19 m in length, 0.5~2.0 m in width and 1.5~5.0 m in height. The Chuifeng Cave mammalian fauna consists of 24 species, including 92 Gigantopithecus balcki teeth. Chuifeng Cave is one of the most important Early Pleistocene sites because of the presence of Gigantopithecus fauna and an abundance of the associated mammal fossils.
Gigantopithecus research is an issue in the palaeontology academia. Previous studies have paid more attention for Gigantopithecus evolution characteristicalization and classification, while less for Gigantopithecus living paleoenvironment background. Here, we have used C and O stable isotope analysis method, combined with camparison of different Gigantopithecus fauna, and discussed the paleoenvironment of Chuifeng Cave.
The stable isotopic(C, O) analysis of tooth enamel of the fauna has been associated with Gigantopithecus(n=21). The δ13C values of Chuifeng Cave fauna range from-12.8 ‰ to-18.1 ‰ with an average of-15.2 ‰ (n=21) and the δ18O values range from-6.4 ‰ to-9.3 ‰ with an average of-7.8 ‰ (n=21). The isotopic data showed Gigantopithecus fauna of Chuifeng Cave lived in forest and mainly fed on C3 plant. Isotopic data results are consistent with previous reconstructions based on vertebrate paleontological of the Gigantopithecus fauna in Southern China for the environment during the Early Pleistocene. The reconstruction of paleoenvironment of Chuifeng Cave provides important paleoenvironment background materials, and may help us understand the origin and evolution of Gigantopithecus fauna.
