The PI
Biwu Liu (刘必武) Ph.D.
Professor
Xi’an Jiaotong University

Biwu obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Waterloo in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Juewen Liu. During that time, he studiedthe adsorption of DNA oligonucleotides on a range of metal oxide nanoparticles and developed fluorescent sensors for inorganic anions, heavy metals, reactive oxygen species, and nucleic acids. Biwu continued his research in the Liu lab as a postdoc for another four years. He then joined the Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Instrument for Life Science at Xi’an Jiaotong University. His current research focused on developing highly selective bio-nano conjugates to probe the biological processes. The lab is currently funded by “Young Talent Support Plan” of Xi’an Jiaotong University.




Research Interests
· Functional nucleic acids-modified nanomaterial as sensing platforms for environmental and biological applications;
· Bio-inspired nanomaterial for sensing, imaging, and coating applications;
· Bioassays based on nanozymes;
· Organic-inorganic hybrid materials as platforms for the immobilization of enzymes and enzyme-mimics for biomedical applications.

中文简介 - 刘 必武个人简介
刘必武,生命学院生命分析化学与仪器研究所教授,博士生导师,2020年入选西安交通大学“青年拔尖人才支持计划”A类。博士毕业于加拿大滑铁卢大学,师从Juewen Liu(刘珏文)教授,毕业后继续在课题组从事博士后研究。专注于功能核酸修饰的纳米材料在生命分析和生物医学中的基础和应用研究。迄今以第一或共同第一作者在J. Am. Chem. Soc.(4篇),Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.(2篇),Anal. Chem.(2篇),Mater. Horiz.(1篇),Matter (1篇)等国际学术期刊上发表24篇学术论文,总被引用3000余次,H-index 34, 2篇入选ESI高被引论文,获国家优秀自费留学生奖学金(2015)等奖励。本课题组(生命分析与生物界面实验室)将着力发展基于纳米生物材料与功能核酸的新型传感平台,用于复杂生物环境下靶标的快速,高灵敏,高稳定识别,为癌症的早期诊断以及重大传染性疾病的快速检测提供新方法。
