Research InterestsConstruction project management, Construction financial management modeling, Decision-making modeling, Artificial intelligence in civil engineering, and Soft soil improvement in geotechnical engineering.
Dr. Lam obtained his PhD from the University of New South Wales, Australia. As a civil engineer, he gained relevant industry experience working on infrastructure projects in Hong Kong and Taiwan (e.g. Taipei Railway Underground, Taiwan Northern Second Freeway, Paelma Youde Hospital- Hong Kong, etc.). He joined City University of Hong Kong in 1990 and was programme Leader of MSc in Construction Management for over ten years. Dr. Lam has also held several external appointments amongst which are panel member of Building and Civil Engineering Industry Training Board of the Vocational Training Council, HKSAR, (2000-2001); research committee member of the Construction Industry Institute (2005-2007); Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong and Queensland University of Technology. Dr. Lam is an associate editor of the Journal of Built Environment Project and Asset Management and serves as a member of the Editorial Board of several internationally refereed academic journals.
