Michael joined City University from the Polytechnic University in 2020 where he worked as a Visiting Lecturer and Project Associate on a joint venture with Stanford University creating an academic English writing support app designed for Chinese students.
Prior to that, as the Language Acquisition Lead of an IB international school in the Middle East, he worked closely with a consultancy by Harvard University Graduate School of Education on developing students’ critical thinking skills through its Project Zero initiative.
He started his teaching career in Germany on secondment from his then employer, Daimler AG, as a Business English Lecturer at a local university. He later joined the British Council (BC) worldwide teaching network and enjoyed a multi-layered international career as a teacher, teacher trainer, corporate training consultant, teaching centre branch manager, project manager, director of studies, and Cambridge/BC examiner.
