Tiffany taught in various universities, including the University of Hong Kong (HKU), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) before/after joining the Language Centre of the City University of Hong Kong (CityU). Her teaching covers translation, semantics, sociolinguistics, film studies, business English, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and teacher-training courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Serving as the Course Lead of GE 2412 English for Humanities and Social Sciences, Tiffany contributes to the development of instructional units, manages administrative issues relevant to the course, and provides regular guidance to the course instructors.
Additionally, Tiffany received a Teaching Development Grant (TDG) (HK$239,877) in 2018, which was used to support her project entitled “Maximizing students’ discovery in research presentation: The development of a student research showcase and an e-learning website”. As the Principal Investigator of the project, Tiffany managed the organization of the Student Research Showcase, and designed an e-learning website (http://www.cityu.edu.hk/lc/app/) which aims to guide undergraduate students to analyze the semiotic and linguistic features of academic posters, and raise their awareness of poster presentation as a spoken academic genre.
Meanwhile, Tiffany has also been facilitating inter-university partnership by serving as a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Hong Kong Continuing Professional Development Hub (HKCPD), with the aim to foster educational collaborations between CityU, HKU, PolyU, the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
In recognition of her contributions, Tiffany was nominated for the Teaching Excellence Award (CityU) in 2019/2020. She is also an awardee of the Innovative CityU-Learning Award in 2020/2021.
