教授,博导,刘迎芳是国家****基金获得者(2010年),国家百千****才入选者(2009年),享受政府特殊津贴专家(2012年),归侨贡献奖获得者,多项863、973及国家自然科学基金等重大、重点项目课题或子课题承担人。2012年获得北京市科技成果一等奖(第一完成人)。2017年加入中山大学后,入选广东省珠江领军人才,“珠江引进人才创新创业团队”带头人(2019)。

1993-1999年毕业于北京大学植物分子生物学系研究生,获博士学位
1999-2005年先后在美国国立犹太医学研究中心免疫学系、冷泉港实验室以及杜克大学医学中心从事博士后及研究助理工作

刘迎芳教授实验室主要从事与感染性疾病、天然免疫及肿瘤相关的重大疾病的研究,在Nature、Cell等国际期刊发表了数十篇研究论文。特别是其实验室作为首要贡献者,首次揭示了流感病毒复制中的关键活性蛋白:流感病毒聚合酶PA亚基的结构和其内切核酸酶的功能,揭示了流感病毒的转录机制,并为开发新型流感病毒药物提供了新靶标。该项工作在2008年级2009年先后两次在Nature杂志发表论文,申请了两项国际专利,并被CCTV新闻联播播报,并在国家“十二五重大科技成果展”中作为中国生物学科研两项重要成果之一获展。目前,国际上根据此项原创发现开发的新型强大抗流感药物Xofluza已经于2018年上市,因其有效性被称为“超级流感药”。近年来,刘迎芳带领的团队还原创发现了人体中一类新型危险信号类(DAMP类)炎症因子。这一炎症因子的发现为多种急慢性炎症疾病,如急性病原感染、关节炎、多发性硬化症等,提供了新机制并为针对各类炎症疾病开发原创的新型诊疗试剂提供了新靶标。
刘迎芳实验室初步构建了从分子生物学、生物化学、细胞生物学、蛋白质科学、实验动物体系及临床样本分析较为完整的生物医学研究体系。研究内容包含基础研究及新型医药产品应用开发等内容。本实验室长期持续欢迎有志于生物医学研究的科研人员(博士、硕士、研究员、博士后等)及研究生加入本实验室,共同探索生命的奥秘。
