课程内容简介(英文) This course teaches the senior/graduate students techniques to design and analyze digital integrated circuits. Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to Design simple digital integrated circuits using CMOS technologies and Be familiar with the use of modern Computer Aided Design Tools. In the first part of this course, we introduce CMOS fabrication flow, modeling of semiconductor device and interconnect. Interconnect modeling is becoming very important in ultra-deep micron digital IC design. In the second part digital IC is analyzed in the view of circuit, including the analysis of CMOS inverter, other gate circuits, and aspects of sequential circuit. We discuss important concepts on propagation delay, noise margins, and power dissipation, etc. In the third part, digital IC design is addressed in the view of system, including the effects of interconnect on the performances and functions of system. We will look at various design styles and architectures as well as the issues designers must face, such as technology scaling and the impact of interconnect. Examples presented in class include arithmetic circuits, semiconductor memories, and other novel circuits. CAD Tools for layout, extraction, and simulation will be used for assignments, labs and projects |
