大气化学与环境污染控制课题组主要研究领域是大气化学动力学、气溶胶物理化学、大气光化学、复合污染形成机理、环境催化、纳米材料与污染物控制技术。致力于在新技术开发和仪器研制、污染形成机理以及控制技术方面取得突破。2006年获国家自然科学奖二等奖。

大气化学与环境污染控制课题组主要研究领域是大气化学动力学、气溶胶物理化学、大气光化学、复合污染形成机理、环境催化、纳米材料与污染物控制技术。致力于在新技术开发和仪器研制、污染形成机理以及控制技术方面取得突破。2006年获国家自然科学奖二等奖。

二次有机气溶胶光学性质研究的新进展
二次有机气溶胶光学性质研究的新进展
利用我们研制的光腔衰荡光谱仪(Chinese Sci. Bull., 2012, 57, 2567),结合烟雾箱模拟实验系统,开展了系列重要芳香烃生成的二次有机气溶胶(SOA)的光学性质研究,研究结果近期发表在国际期刊Scientific Reports上(Sci. Rep.2014, 4, 4922)。
我们选取北京地区大气中SOA生成贡献较高的人为污染物——苯、甲苯、乙苯、间二甲苯(BTEX),分别研究了在低NOx和高NOx条件下所生成的二次粒子的生成特点(图1)。研究发现,高浓度NOx条件下的氧化过程对大气氧化性增强贡献更大,并且能产生粒径更大的二次颗粒物。通过研究所得二次颗粒物的形貌和相态,发现颗粒近似液态,在空气中悬浮时可以球形存在。

分别测量了不同NOx浓度条件下BTEX二次粒子的光学性质(图2)。在三种条件下,间二甲苯都表现出最大的消光系数,分析指出这是因为其具有最大的反应活性,所生成的二次粒子的粒径最大。发现当NOx浓度升高时,苯、甲苯、乙苯和间二甲苯二次粒子的复折射率是变化的,认为由于不同反应路径所造成的成分差异导致了光学性质的改变。研究揭示,使用单一的二次有机气溶胶复折射率估算全球辐射平衡是不恰当的,根据区域NOx浓度的变化需要进行调整。

式(图3中的三条直线)均在一定程度上过高估计了二次有机气溶胶的复折射率。我们的研究首次给出了这些重要人为源SOA的复折射率的实测值,为研究SOA对大气能见度和全球辐射平衡的影响提供了重要参数。

酸催化H2O2非均相氧化系列脂肪醇研究的新进展
利用我们研制的湿壁流动反应管—真空紫外激光单光子电离飞行时间质谱(Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2011,13, 2069),结合IR、GC-MS、ESI-MS等检测手段,开展了酸催化H2O2非均相氧化系列脂肪醇的研究,研究结果近期发表在RSC Adv.上(RSC Adv.2014,4, 19716)。
我们对三种不同结构的脂肪醇(2-甲基-2-丁醇、3-丁烯-2-醇、2-丁醇)与H2SO4-H2O2混合溶液的反应动力学和机理进行研究,发现在相同酸度条件下三种醇的摄取系数大小为:2-甲基-2-丁醇>3-丁烯-2-醇>2-丁醇,分析指出这是碳正离子稳定性造成的。H2O2的加入促进了2-甲基-2-丁醇和3-丁烯-2-醇的摄取,但对2-丁醇的摄取几乎没有影响,认为这是由不同的反应路径造成的。研究揭示,酸催化H2O2氧化三级醇或烯丙基醇能促进有机过氧化氢物(ROOH)的生成,并通过H218O2同位素实验证明HO2-途径在ROOH的生成过程起着主导作用。对ROOH的降解研究发现,ROOH既可通过酸催化重排反应生成醇、酮等小分子化合物,也可与H2SO4进一步反应生成有机过氧硫酸酯。相关反应机理如图所示。

ROOH在大气化学过程中,如酸沉降、OH自由基循环、颗粒物生长等过程均发挥重要作用。目前认为主要有三种途径促进大气ROOH的生成:气相HO2自由基与RO2自由基反应、臭氧氧化烯烃、H2O2与醛类的液相反应。我们的研究证明酸催化H2O2非均相氧化脂肪醇是一条促进大气ROOH生成的新路径,对大气ROOH生成提出了新见解。而在酸催化过程中产生的有机硫酸酯因其低挥发性易停留在颗粒物相内,对颗粒物的增长也具有一定贡献。

混合气溶胶吸湿与成霾贡献研究新进展
灰霾的产生与大气气溶胶的吸湿性密切有关。我们通过自行搭建的吸湿性串级差分电迁移率分析仪(HTDMA)系统深入研究了与城市灰霾污染有关的多元水溶性有机物对典型大气无机组分如硫酸铵及硝酸铵吸湿性的影响。通过与大气气溶胶模型的预测比对分析,发现草酸及硝酸铵在多元复合组分气溶胶中的相态受到共存组分的显著影响,继而影响到颗粒物在中高湿度条件下的吸湿能力。研究了多种二元羧酸在纳米级颗粒物表面的非均相反应过程,确定了大气颗粒中代表性的有机二元羧酸与无机组分反应产物和新化学反应路径,提出在复杂组分气溶胶体系中的非均相过程能显著影响其吸湿特性,通过表征颗粒物吸湿性质的变化可进一步量化其对灰霾形成的贡献。相关研究成果已发表在Atmos Chem PhysAtmos EnvironJ Phys Chem A上(Atmos Chem Phys,2016, 16, 4101-4118;Atmos Environ,2016, 125, 69-77;J Phys Chem A,2016, 120, 1029-1038)

北京HONO外场观测和源汇研究新进展

亚硝酸(HONO)是大气中重要的活性物种,对大气氧化性和二次粒子的生成有重要影响。我们对北京城区和郊区、霾污染和非霾天气下的HONO及相关气态污染物分别进行了观测和对比。结果显示,北京城区和郊区的HONO浓度有相似的变化趋势,但城区的HONO浓度明显高于郊区。且不论是在城区还是郊区,HONO浓度在污染天气下更高。此外,HONO与NOX、NO2、PM2.5以及相对湿度的相关性研究表明城区与郊区,霾污染和非霾时期HONO的生成机制存在很大差异。对于城区和霾污染时期直接排放和均相反应对于HONO生成的贡献显著,对于郊区和非霾天气NO2非均相转化的贡献更为明显。作为OH的重要来源,揭示HONO在城区、郊区以及霾污染和非霾时期的不同生成机制对了解区域间灰霾的形成有重要意义。相关研究结果发表在Atmos. Environ.、Faraday Discuss.上(Atmos. Environ., 2016, 124, 199-206; Faraday Discuss., 2016, DOI: 10.1039/c5fd00163c.),同时受邀在英国举办的“Chemistry in the Urban Atmosphere: Faraday Discussion”会议上做报告。
