主要研究兴趣包括遥感地学应用模型、资源环境遥感信息机理、自然灾害遥感分析评价和GIS空间分析与建模。近年来主要开展农作物重金属污染胁迫遥感识别与反演模型、矿物蚀变遥感分析、地质灾害GIS评价方法、海洋环境遥感等研究。主持完成了国家自然科学基金、科技部863等科研项目20多项。出版了《GIS空间分析》、《遥感数字图像处理与分析》等著作多部,在“InternationalJournalofAppliedEarthObservationandGeoinformation”、“OreGeologyReviews”、“ContinentalShelfResearch”、“Computers&Geosciences”、“FieldCropsResearch”、“InternationalJournalofAppliedMathematicsandStatistics”、“BiosystemsEngineering”、“IEEEJournalofSelectedTopicsinAppliedEarthObservationsandRemoteSensing”、“遥感学报”、“海洋学报”、“环境科学学报”、“中国环境科学”、“地质论评”、“应用生态学报”等国内外学术刊物发表论文120多篇,其中60余篇被SCI、EI检索。先后获得教育部“全国高等学校优秀骨干教师”、吉林省“拔尖创新人才工程人选”等荣誉。
