Abstract:
 In these talks, I will discuss the local multiplicity problem for spherical varieties. In the first talk, I will go over the general conjecture for the multiplicity and all the known results. I will also discuss how to use the multiplicity formula to prove the results in some lower rank cases. In the second talk, I will define the geometric multiplicities and formulate the conjectural multiplicity formula for general spherical varieties. I will also discuss more applications of the multiplicity formulas. In the third talk, I will explain how to use the trace formula method to prove the multiplicity formulas in many cases.
