Expertise summaryAmarpreet Gill started his design career at the University of Huddersfield in 2002 and obtained his Bachelor in Transport Design in 2006. Whilst studying he worked for Fuelled Media as a Freelance CAD Designer. On graduating, he joined Enkai Custom Aquariums as Lead Designer, designing high-end aquariums for both commercial and private clients.
In 2009 he moved to Sweden to begin his Masters in Transportation Design at Umea Institute of Design where he was involved in several exciting projects, such as, VW’s Beetle 3.0, BMW Mini’s Advanced Material Vehicle Interior and Google Chrome’s Web Lab. He graduated in 2011 with the offer of a role as a Car Designer with SAAB AB, until it was announced that they were going into administration.
Returning to the UK, he began working as a Freelance Designer working with several companies including Money is the Root Clothing, a UK based urban clothing brand and Studio SDKZ based in China, designing various furniture and products for the Chinese market. Thereafter, he joined De Montfort University in Leicester on part-time basis as a Visual Instructor, tutoring in both Product Design and Interior Design courses. After a successful period with De Montfort University, he decided to pursue a career in Design Education and joined the Product Design and Manufacturing team at University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China.
