Our group current research interests are the development of new synthetic methodologies, strategies and transition-metal catalyzed tandem processes for the rapid construction of biologically active heterocycles.
(1) Transition-metal Catalyzed Decarboxylative Cross-coupling Reaction
Transition-metal catalyzed decarboxylative cross-coupling reactions using simple carboxylic acids as coupling partners have emerged as a new type of C-C bond formation reaction. In these reactions, using readily available and stable carboxylic acids instead of organometallic reagents enabled the decarboxylative cross-coupling reactions to proceed with good selectivities and tolerance of functional groups (Scheme 1).

(2)Synthesis of Heterocycles
Heterocycles represent a larger group of organic compounds and play a significant role in life processed and in all aspects of pure and applied chemistry. Nitrogen-containing heterocycles are an component of not only some of the most interesting and biologically important natural products, such as alkaloids, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, and antibiotics but include numerous potent pharmaceutical drugs and a large amount of synthetic organic compounds (Scheme 2).

中文简介
段新华,西安交通大学理学院化学系,教授,博士生导师。2007年博士毕业于兰州大学功能有机分子化学国家重点实验室。获理学博士学位。主要从事过渡金属催化的杂环化合物合成研究。2007-2008年在法国国家科学研究中心(CNRS)下属的天然物质化学研究所(ICSN)从事博士后研究,师从有机合成化学家Jieping Zhu教授。从事具有重要药物活性羟吲哚化合物的合成研究。2008-2010年在德国慕尼黑大学化学系从事博士后研究,师从Herbert Mayr 教授。2010年入职西安交通大学,现任理学院副院长。
本课题目前主要从事具有生物活性药物分子的设计与合成,侧重于含氮杂环化合物的合成。此外,本课题组还进行光电功能有机材料的设计与合成。迄今为止已在国际权威的化学期刊Acc. Chem. Res., Angew. Chem., Int. Ed., Org. Lett., Chem. Commun., Chem. Eur. J.上发表SCI论文60余篇。近5年发表的论文中IF(影响因子) > 20的1篇,IF > 10的2篇,IF > 5的论文16篇。这些论文中引用次数超过100的3篇,引用次数超过60次的3篇。其中12篇论文入选“基本科学指标数据(ESI)”高被引论文。这些论文发表后引起国际学术界的高度关注,其中3篇论文得到国际有机合成评论性杂志Synfacts的高度评价,并列为亮点文章报道(Synfacts 2013, 9, 1273; Synfacts 2013, 9, 1274和Synfacts 2015, 11, 1257)。另有三篇文章被著名的有机化学网站Organic Chemistry Portal (http://www.organic-chemistry.org/)作为亮点评述(Highlights/2016/11April.shtm, abstracts/lit5/138.shtm and abstracts/lit5/283.shtm)。多篇论文被国际著名的综述杂志Chem. Rev., Org. Chem. Front., Org. Biomol. Chem., Synthesis.,以及X-MOL网站以亮点工作的方式评价和总结。由于在脱羧偶联和生物碱合成化学方面的系统性工作目前被国际著名杂志受邀以综述的形式介绍本实验的研究成果。相关论文发表在Org. Biomol. Chem.上 (2016, 14, 7380.)。 该论文发表后被收录为“2016 Hot Articles in Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry”。此外还担任多个国际学术期刊的审稿人。主持国家自然科学基金、教育部博士点及留学回国基金、陕西省重点项目等多项基金。2008年获甘肃省科技进步二等奖。

交大百廿校庆学术活动
值此西安交通大学120周年校庆期间,应交大化学学科邀请,武汉大学雷爱文教授和大连化物所李兴伟教授于2016年4月6-8日访问我校并参加理学院交叉学科高端论坛。
在学术报告中,雷爱文教授首先介绍了他们小组发展的氧化偶联反应,同时指出这类偶联反应在有机合成中的重要作用。接着详细讲解了他们如何利用自由基策略实现不同反应试剂的偶联并展示了在线红外、同步辐射在反应机理研究方面的重要作用。雷爱文教授用自己独特的魅力和深厚的专业知识详细生动地为师生们带来了一场精彩的报告。报告后与现场师生进行了热烈的讨论与交流。


大连化物所李兴伟教授的报告题目是:高价金属催化的烃类碳氢键活化与官能化:类型、活化策略及机理。在报告中李兴伟教授着重介绍了他们小组近几年利用Rh(III)进行碳-氢活化反应的研究。李老师课题组关于碳-氢键活化反应机理的深入而详细的研究给在座的师生留下了深刻的印象。李兴伟教授的报告内容新颖,讲解深入浅出,激起了广大师生的浓厚兴趣,报告后,师生们就报告中的一些机理与新方法等与李老师进行了深入的交流和讨论。报告会后雷爱文教授和李兴伟教授还应邀作为嘉宾与理学院领导共同为理学院高分子化学与物理系成立揭牌。本次学术活动献礼交大百廿华诞!

刘学伟副教授访问化学系
应化学学科邀请,新加坡南洋理工刘学伟副教授于2015年11月17-20日访问我校,并于18日上午10:00在化学楼207报告厅作关于“Glycosciences: From Synthetic Methods to Glycobiology”的学术报告。在本次报告中刘老师详细的介绍了他们小组近年来利用钯催化Tsuji-Trost反应以及邻基参与在糖的官能团化修饰方面的研究进展并系统介绍了这些衍生化的糖在分子生物学方面的应用。报告后刘老师与部分老师和同学进行了热烈的讨论并参观307实验室。此外,刘老师还与学校的相关老师就双方进一步的合作进行了沟通。

有机合成化学学术沙龙成功举办
由理学院党委组织、化学学科承办的有机合成化学学术沙龙于2015年6月26日(周五)9:00到18:40在化学楼207报告厅成功举办。本次论坛共邀请到来自西北农林科技大学、西北大学、陕西师范大学、重庆大学以及西安交通大学等科研单位共十余位老师参与。报告的内容涉及天然产物合成、绿色可持续及能源催化、功能有机硼合成新方法、卡宾催化、金催化有机反应、苯炔化学以及脱羧偶联环化等有机合成前沿领域。共有7位来次不同院校的老师在本次活动中详细的介绍他们近年来在科研方面取得的进展并分享他们在科研工作中的酸甜苦辣,勉励青年学生努力工作!在报告中同学和老师们对共同感兴趣的问题进行了热烈的讨论。

应307实验室邀请,大连化学物理研究所李兴伟研究员于2015年6月23-24日访问我校,并于24日上午10:00在化学楼207报告厅作关于“Stoichiometric and Catalytic C-H Activation Using Rhodium and Iridium.”的学术报告。在本次报告中李老师详细的介绍了他们研究小组近年来利用Rh(III)催化的碳-氢官能团化方面的研究进展并系统介绍了这种策略在合成一系列结构复杂的杂环化合物上的应用。此外,李老师还介绍了他们小组在反常氮杂卡宾方面的研究。报告后李老师与部分老师和同学进行了热烈的讨论并参观307实验室。

2014年9月22-27日,德国慕尼黑大学Herbert Mayr教授参观307实验室并与实验室师生进行了深入的交流和讨论。

Herbert Mayr教授还在科学馆207报告厅为广大师生作了题为“A Quantitative Approach to Polar Organic Reactivity”的学术报告。
