研究方向
TRPC ion channels distribute ubiquitously and mediate Ca2+ and Na+ ions influx into the cells. Ca2+, as one of the most universal and inflexible carriers of intracellular signals, acts as a second messenger to regulate all aspects of cellular processes, beginning with triggering life during fertilization and ending with the perish of cells. Therefore, TRPC channels play important roles in many physiological and pathological mechanisms via regulating the cytosolic Ca2+ concentration and cell membrane potential. During these decades, numerous study works are invested on TRP channels. Nevertheless, our understanding of these ion channels in human health and diseases remains elusive. In the last few years, the resolution revolution in cryo-electron microscopy enable the high-resolution structures of TRPC channels, which promote us further understand the channel conduction pathway and the gating mechanism.


The activation of TRPC channels depend on the GPCR-PLC pathway. It was well known that the product of PLC hydrolyzing PIP2 could stimulate TRPC3/TRPC6/TRPC7, but it is still unknown how PLC pathway activated TRPC1/TRPC4/TRPC5. However, besides PLC, there are multiple factors involving in the regulation of TRPC channels.
