山东大学儒学高等研究院“中国哲学研究所”由原山东大学儒学高等研究院和山东大学“文史哲研究院哲学研究所”人员组合而成。山东大学儒学高等研究院的历史可以追溯到2005年成立的山东大学“儒学研究中心”，“文史哲研究院哲学研究所”的前身是1978年成立的原文史哲研究所自然辩证法研究室，该研究室是中国高等院校中成立最早的科技哲学研究机构之一。现任所长曾振宇教授。

本研究所的研究主要集中在儒家哲学、生活儒学、外国哲学与科技哲学四个领域。

在儒家哲学领域，庞朴先生是学术带头人。庞朴先生是中国哲学史专家、海内外公认的儒学研究权威学者。庞朴先生治学严谨，求实求真，其学术研究在国内外产生了重大影响。颜炳罡教授在先秦儒家哲学与现代新儒家方面成就卓著，在学界享有较高声誉。曾振宇教授、沈顺福教授、徐庆文副教授在先秦诸子、汉代思想史、道家与道教哲学、比较伦理学和哲学概念等领域发表了一大批论著，在学界产生了较大影响。

黄玉顺教授所创立的“生活儒学”理论，作为儒学的当代思想形态的一种理论建构、当今儒学的一个重要学术流派，在海内外产生了广泛的影响。

在外国哲学领域，本研究所的鲜明特色主要体现在“批判理论”、“诠释学”、“德国古典哲学”和“现代犹太哲学”方面。傅永军教授围绕哈贝马斯哲学对批判理论现代性问题的研究、围绕康德哲学对德国观念论的研究、围绕利奥·拜克对现代犹太宗教哲学的研究以及对西方诠释学及其中国诠释学学科建设的探索，在学术界都产生了较大影响。蔡祥元讲师在现象学、维特根斯坦哲学和古希腊哲学方面，崭露头角。

在科技哲学领域，马来平教授在“科技与社会研究”方面发表了一批较有影响的学术论著，在学界享有较高声誉。常春兰副教授对科学合理性和相对主义的研究，在西方科学哲学领域正逐渐引起学界高度关注。

本研究所与山东大学哲学与社会发展学院哲学系保持着密切的研究合作关系。目前本研究所在中国哲学、科技哲学和外国哲学三个二级学科招收硕士研究生和博士研究生，在中国哲学、外国哲学和科技哲学三个二级学科接受博士后研究人员进站从事研究工作。本研究所的中国哲学博士点设有先秦儒学、宋明理学、当代儒学、儒学与西方哲学比较研究等方向；外国哲学博士点设有近代欧洲哲学、批判理论与西方马克思主义、诠释学与现象学、西方政治哲学、中外比较哲学等研究方向；科技哲学博士点设有科技与社会、中国近现代科技社会史、科学文化等研究方向。

Chinese Philosophy Research Institute of Advanced Institute for Confucian Studies of Shandong University consists of people from original Advanced Institute for Confucian Studies and Institute of Literature, History and Philosophy of Shandong University. The history of the Advanced Institute for Confucian Studies can be traced back to “Research Center of Confucianism” and the Research Institute of Philosophy of Institute of Literature, History and Philosophy grew out of Research Section of Natural Dialectics founded in 1978, which belonged to the Graduate School of Literature, History and Philosophy and was one of the earliest organizations of Philosophy of Science Technology in Chinese universities. Now the director of the Research Institute is Professor Zeng Zhenyu.

The main research fields of the Research Institute center on Confucian philosophy, Life Confucianism, foreign philosophy and philosophy of science and technology.

In Confucian philosophy, Professor Pang Pu is the academic leader, who is a specialist in the history of Chinese philosophy and a world-famous authoritative scholar in Confucian research. He is noted for rigorous and truth-oriented attitude of scholarship and his research makes great influences in China and overseas. Professor Yan Binggang makes outstanding achievements in the research of Pre-Qin Confucianism and modern new Confucianism and has a good reputation in academic circles. Professor Zeng Zhenyu, Shen Xunfu and associate Professor Xu Qingwen published a large number of books and papers in the fields of Pre-Qin Philosophers, the history of thought of the Han Dynasty, the Taoist Philosophy and the Taoism Philosophy, comparative ethics and the conception of philosophy and so on, and make great contributions to the academia.

Professor Huang Yushun created the theory of Life Confucianism, which, as re-construction of contemporary Confucianism and one of the important schools of contemporary Confucianism, and gain widespread influence worldwide.

The distinct characteristic in the research of Foreign Philosophy is mainly embodied in Critical Theory, Hermeneutics, German Classic Philosophy and Modern Jewish Philosophy. The research achievements by Professor Fu Yongjun have made great influences in academia, including the research on the problem of Modernity in Critical Theory focusing on Habermas’ Philosophy, the research on German Idealism focusing on Kant’s Philosophy, the research on Modern Jewish Religion Philosophy focusing on Leo Baeck, the research on Western Hermeneutics, and the attempt to construct the subject of Chinese Hermeneutics. Doctor Cai Xiangyuan is coming to the prominence in phenomenology, Wittgenstein and greek philosophy.

In philosophy of science and technology, Professor Ma Laiping has published many influential academic works in Science Culture and Science Sociology, and hit his fame in academia. The research on science rationality and relativism by Associate Professor Chang Chunlan is gradually attracting attention in the academic circle of Western Philosophy of Science.

The Research Institute keeps close cooperative relationship with the Philosophy Department in School of Philosophy and Social Development, Shandong University.

At present, this research center enrolls master candidates, doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers of Chinese Philosophy, Foreign Philosophy and Philosophy of Science and Technology. The research directions in Doctoral Degree Program of Chinese Philosophy include Pre-Qin Confucianism, Neo-Confucianism of Song-Ming Dynasties, Contemporary Confucianism and Comparative Study; the research directions in Doctoral Degree Program of Foreign Philosophy are Modern European Philosophy, Critical Theory and Western Marxism, Hermeneutics and Phenomenology, Western Political Philosophy, and Comparative study of Chinese Philosophy and Foreign Philosophy; and the research directions in Doctoral Degree Program of Philosophy of Science Technology covers Science, Technology and Society, History of Chinese Modern Science and Technology, and Science Culture.
