儒学高等研究院经学与小学研究所的前身是文史哲研究院汉语史研究所，主要从事经学、小学与汉语历史及相关领域的研究和博、硕士研究生的培养工作。本所专业历史久远，20世纪50年代以来，殷孟伦、殷焕先、蒋维崧、吉常宏等享誉学界的前辈学者为本学科的形成及发展奠定了坚实的基础。本所近十余年来的主要研究方向是汉语史（含现代），兼容多元性探索，在汉语史研究、辞书编纂、《文心雕龙》研究方面尤具特色，在学术界有重要的学术地位，属于具有学术优势的学科。现任所长为冯春田教授。

冯春田教授致力于汉语史的研究，曾出版专著《近代汉语语法问题研究》、《近代汉语语法研究》、《聊斋俚曲语法研究》、《明清山东方言语法研究》等，并发表数十篇汉语历史词汇与历史语法研究论文。冯教授还曾进行过《文心雕龙》的词语考释及其哲学文化背景的阐释研究，出版著作3种及发表多篇相关学术论文，对《文心雕龙》研究的健康发展有正本清源的作用。冯春田教授的汉语史研究与《文心雕龙》研究在国内外学术界都有重要的影响。

孙剑艺教授、宋开玉教授致力于汉语史及相关领域的研究，作为学术骨干承担了《汉语大词典》、《汉语大词典简编》、《汉语称谓大词典》、《全唐诗大辞典》的撰写。孙剑艺教授另出版有《汉语的字、词、词素探析》等著作，并任《汉语称谓大词典》副主编。宋开玉教授另出版有《杜诗释地》、《明清山东方言词缀研究》、《桐城吴先生日记》、《曹贞吉集》（合著）等著作，并任《全唐诗大辞典》、《汉语称谓大词典》、《杜甫大辞典》副主编，以及《杜甫全集校注》负责人之一。孙剑艺教授、宋开玉教授等各有一系列汉语历时词汇研究的论文发表，在学术界均有较大影响。丁秀菊教授主要从事汉语修辞学、文字学、训诂学等方面的研究，曾出版专著以及主编或参编《汉语知识词典》等著作5部，发表学术论文数十篇，在学术界产生了较大影响。

本所科研成果获各类奖励10余项，《汉语大词典》、《近代汉语语法研究》、《汉语称谓大词典》获省优秀科研成果一等奖，《近代汉语语法问题研究》获北京大学王力语言学奖（第五届），《〈文心雕龙〉释义》、《全唐诗大辞典》获省优秀科研成果二等奖，《全唐诗大辞典》中国辞书学会优秀成果二等奖。本所教师承担国家社科基金项目3项、教育部社科规划项目与省社科规划重点项目6项，作为研究骨干参与包括国家社科规划重大课题在内的各类项目多项。

目前本所正积极开展学术研究与研究生的培养工作。未来数年内，本所具体研究将主要集中在经学与小学以及汉语历史研究等领域。为完成一系列具有科学价值和真正具有学术影响力的研究工作，本所教师将不断强化科学观念，努力工作。

This research center is mainly engaged in the research of Chinese language history, Chinese paleography, Chinese Classics, and related fields, as well as the training of graduate students. This center has a long history. Since the 1950s, many renowned scholars, such as Yin Menglun, Yin Huanxian, Jiang Weisong and Ji Changhong, have laid a solid foundation to the formation and development of the center. Language history is the primary research direction, particularly focusing on the research about the modern and ancient history of the Chinese language. It has long since established itself as superior center for language studies in China.

The current director of the research center is Professor Feng Chuntian. Professor Feng’s specialty is on the research of the Classics and historical linguistics, in particular Chinese diachronic grammar. He has published a number of monographs such as Research on Pre-Modern Chinese Grammar, Modern Chinese Grammar Study, Research on the Grammar of Liaozhai Vulgar Verses, Study of the Grammar of Shandong Dialect in Ming and Qing Periods, and has published a series of related papers on Chinese diachronic lexicon and grammar. He does research on the work Wenxin Diaolong, and utilizes his solid foundation in Chinese linguistics to analyze its philkosophy and cultural significance. He has published three books and many articles related to Wenxin Diaolong, which play an important role in the relevant research field.

Other important members include Professor Sun Jianyi and Associate Professor Song Kaiyu, who both participated in the writing of The Chinese Dictionary, A Brief Chinese Dictionary, Dictionary of Chinese Appellations, and A Dictionary for Tang Dynasty Poems. Professor Sun Jianyi has published works such as Examination of Chinese Characters, Words, and Morphemes. He was also the deputy editor-in-chief for the Dictionary of Chinese Appellations. Associate Professor Song Kaiyu has published several monographs such as Interpretation of Geographical Names in Du Fu’s Poetry, Research on Affixes of Shandong Dialect in Ming and Qing Dynasties, Diary of Mr. Wu in Tongcheng, and so on. He also co-authored Set Writings of Cao Zhenji. He was also a deputy editor-in-chief for the Dictionary of Chinese Appellations, A Dictionary for Tang Dynasty Poems, and Dictionary of Du Fu. In addition, they also each have issued a series of papers of Chinese diachronic vocabulary. These papers have been well received in academic circles in China. Professor Ding Xiuju is engaged in the research about Chinese rhetoric, philology, and exegesis, and has edited or participated in the writing of Entrance Examination Dictionary, Dictionary of Chinese Knowledge and others, and has published dozens of academic papers.

More than 10 academic projects from this center have been officially recognized and received awards for their excellence. For example, Chinese Dictionary, Modern Chinese Grammar Study ,and Dictionary of Chinese Appellations were awarded the first prize of outstanding achievements of Social Sciences in Shandong Province; Research on Modern Chinese Grammar won the Fifth Annual Wang Li Linguistics Award, which was set up by Beijing University. Interpretation of Wen Xin Diao Long and A Dictionary for Tang Dynasty Poems were awarded the second prize of outstanding achievements of Social Sciences in Shandong Province. A Dictionary for Tang Dynasty Poems was awarded the second prize of outstanding achievement of the Chinese Institute of Dictionaries. This research center has already taken on a number of provincially and nationally funded academic projects, from the National Social Science Fund and Social Sciences Planning Projects of the Ministry of Education and Shandong Province, and has participated in all kinds of projects including those under the auspices of the National Social Science Project Planning Committee.

At present, this research center’s two main goals remain producing high quality academic work and high quality training to graduate students, both in the fields of Chinese Classics, Chinese paleography, and historical linguistic studies. Within several years, its specific research projects will be mainly focused on the history of modern Chinese and the research of Shandong dialects in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. To complete a series of works with scientific value and real academic influence, it is going to strengthen scientific concepts and expand academic horizons.
