儿科学是一门研究小儿生长发育规律、提高小儿身心健康水平和疾病防治质量的医学科学。随着医学的发展和各种高新技术源源不断地渗入医疗实践，极大地提高了儿科疾病的诊疗水平。作为研究生儿科英文课程体系建设课程，小儿内科学基础理论及临床诊治进展着重介绍小儿内科基础和临床研究的新知识、新技术、新进展、与临床密切相关的科研成果以各专业疾病的诊断治疗新方法。如介绍先天性心脏病诊断及介入治疗、遗传代谢病的诊治进展、儿童哮喘诊治新进展、癫痫分类和治疗进展、新生儿感染的现状和诊治进展、小儿神经母细胞瘤诊治进展、儿童感染性休克研究进展等倍受重视的儿科课题。本课程的教学采用全英语多媒体演示，教师运用双语进行授课。且课程将努力探索适合当前形势下的教学模式和方法，创造有利于促进学生英语学习的教学氛围，引导学生在学习专业知识的同时掌握医学英语。本课程的授课老师由新华医院、上海儿童医学中心、上海市儿童医院儿科领域著名专家、教授担任。

Pediatrics is a study of growth and development of children and a branch of medical science dealing with prevention and treatment of children's diseases aiming at improving their physical and mental health. With the development of medical science and the advanced technologies penetrate into medical practice continuously, the standard of diagnosis and treatment of the pediatric diseases improve extremely. As a pediatric graduate course, Pediatric Internal Medicine curriculum emphasizes on introduce new progresses on the pediatric basic and clinical research and new methods of diagnosis and treatment on each specialty.The course covers the pediatric subjects such as diagnosis and interventional therapy of congenital heart diseases, new progresses on the diagnosis and treatment of inherited metabolic disorders，childhood asthma and neuroblastoma，the classification and new progress on treatment of epilepsia, current situation and new progress on the neonate infection, advance in childhood infectious shock, etc.The course applies a bilingual teaching method with completely English multi-media presentation. The course will also try to explore the suitable teaching methods to create English study atmosphere and let the students not only understand medical knowledge but also proficient in special English.The teachers of the course are the highly experienced clinical specialists and professors in the pediatric fields from Xinhua Hospital, Shanghai Children's Medical Center and Shanghai Children's Hospital.
