课程内容简介(英文) KCJJYBiomedical (bio-med) research in the post-genomic time is usually based on the cell. Cell biology therefore has become the basis of understanding the various aspects of bio-med knowledge. This course faces to the graduate students who are going to do bio-med research soon, introduce the current essential concepts and knowledge in cell biology in a way of overview and outline. The contents include 14 chapters, e.g. The basic structures and functions of the cells, Cellular transport and signaling, The proliferation, differentiation and death of the cells, and etc. The course emphasizes the association with medicine, and takes a number of the Nobel Prize works as the cases to describe the histories of discovery behind the well-formed and emerging concepts. The teachers are the senior scientists and professor or the younger ones who remain stuck to bench work, therefore telling their personal perception in class. The way of examination is to write a reading report based on a case of Nobel Prize works or a number of scientific articles, thus to encourage the students’ enthusiasm to explore the unknown and to train their ability to summarize and to present. |
