Its intended audiences are students of health administration, public and business administration, public health, medicine and etc. The course firstly is an introduction to the economics of medical care. It covers the contents of trends in medical expenditures, the contribution of economics to health policy and the basic choices that must be made with regard to medical services, and etc. Then the course talks about the production of health and the impact of medical services on health, overview of the medical care sector. The contents of course also include the demand for medical care, health insurance and the supply of medical care, the failure of health care market and government intervention. The course analyzes the flow of funds in health sector and national health account. Finally, the course analyzes China health policy using economic theory.
