课程内容简介(英文) "The course is a methodological science, whose aim is to develop students’ skills and ability to search and appraise health information in major overseas biomedical database. The course will also make students understand the basic principles, concepts, methods of health information retrieval and critical appraisal, which facilitate students’ health related researches.The course include three main sections:In the first section, the basic concepts of health information retrieval and major overseas databases (Medline, Cochrane and Embase) will be described to make students understand the basic concepts of health information retrieval and major overseas databases. In the second section, the principles, key resource and focused questions for health information will be explained and Mesh will be described to make students capable to find source, formulate search strategies and conduct successful searches.In the third section, key study designs (SR, RCT, NRCT, COHORT, CCS, BAS and etc.) will be described; key aspects of critical appraisal will be defined; and critical appraisal checklist will be selected to critique and appraise the health information. The aim is to develop students’ capability to use appraisal tools to select best health information.Considering the characteristics of the course, the practical exercise will be focused besides learning basic concepts. The research essays and reports are attached in teaching materials to facilitate students self-study and self -research in order to develop their creativity" |
