"口腔流行病学是流行病学的一个分支，即用流行病学的原则、基本原理和方法，研究人群中口腔疾病的发生、发展和分布的规律及其影响因素，同时研究口腔健康及其影响因素，为探讨口腔疾病的病因、因素、制定口腔保健计划，选择防治策略和评价服务效果打下良好基础。口腔流行病学是流行病学的一个重要组成部分，是流行病学方法在口腔医学中的应用，它与预防医学、临床医学和基础医学有着非常密切的联系。通过口腔流行病学的教学，使学生初步掌握口腔流行病学的定义，掌握描述性流行病学调查方法，掌握临床科研设计方法，掌握龋病、牙周病、口腔恶性肿瘤等口腔常见病的指数，熟悉口腔流行病学的作用，熟悉病例对照研究、队列研究、实验流行病学的调查方法，了解各种口腔常见病的流行因素，了解spss统计分析软件常用统计分析方法。使学生毕业后能在所工作的社区组织领导和开展口腔常见病口腔流行病学的调查工作，为培养高级临床医学人才奠定基础。教学方法上以大课授课为主，贯彻教学与实践想结合的原则，发挥学生的主动性，着重培养学生分析和解决问题的能力。本课程总学时为18学时。 主要针对七年制、三年制硕士研究生。"

"Oral Epidemiology is a branch of Epidemiology, i.e. to study the law of the incidence, development and distribution of oral disease among groups of persons as well as the factors of oral health and factors affecting health by using the principles, basic fundamentals and methods of epidemiology and lay a foundation for discussing the cause of oral diseases, working out plans of oral health and the strategy and methods of evaluation of preventing and treating oral disease.The students must master as follows:Survey methods of descriptive epidemiologyDefinition of Oral EpidemiologyDesign, measurement and evaluationThe major teaching method is classroom teaching.
