课程内容简介(英文) Techniques of molecular biology are very important tools for modern molecular biomedical research. For providing students who had little experience in molecular biological experiments with a studying platform, we launched this course. The whole course comprises three parts: analysis of genomics DNA, analysis of gene expression at RNA and protein level and genetic engineering. The content of the course includes extraction and purification of high molecular weight eukaryotic DNA, extraction of RNA from tissue, restrictive enzyme digestion, Southern blot, probe labeling, reverse transcription-PCR, Western blot, iso-electric focus gel electrophoresis, Techniques of Genetic Engineering (including construction of recombinant DNA and transformation to Ecoli., selection and identification of recombinant DNA) and so on. In addition, we will introduce some other techniques, such as analysis of protein N-terminal sequence, in situ hybridization, Real-Time-PCR, 2D-electrophoresis, etc. After the course is finished, the students will grasp the principles and methods of molecular biological experiments and establish foundation of their future research careers. |
