课程内容简介

课程目的:学生通过参加系列实验(包括演示实验),对光纤通信器件与系统的原理和性能参数、相关实验设备原理及其使用方法、光通信器件和设备使用中的注意事项等有较为全面的了解和掌握。课程内容:原理介绍;设备原理和使用方法;光通信器件和(子)系统原理和性能指标、测量方法;参与实验与演示实验(详见大纲)。授课方式:原理介绍(二周),参与实验与演示实验(7周)。

课程内容简介(英文)

Students are expected to get a more comprehensive understanding and grasp on using of the optical component and equipments through participation in a series of experiments, including demonstration experiments. The course is aimed at improving students' capacity of utilizing optical fiber communication devices and testing the performance parameters of systems and completing some demonstrating experiments independently.Course Contents and Outline:Week one: Introduction- Focus on review of waveguide theory and technology of fiber as well as cable.Week two: Introduction- Focus on review of optoelectronic devices and its test equipments. Week three: Optical fiber fusion technology- Focus on operation and experiment of optical fiber fusion instrument.Week four: Spectral measurement of optoelectronic devices and systems.Focus on operation of Spectrum Analyzer and spectrum measurement of widebandand narrowband optoelectronic devices.Week five: experiment of precision optical emission instrument.Focus on operation of precision optical emission instrument and its application on length precision measurement of fiber and devices.Week six: experiment of tunable laser and wavelength demodulation.Focus on operation of tunable laser and demo of fiber gratings' modulation and demodulation.Week seven: demo experiment of high-speed Bit Error Monitor.Focus on operation of high-speed Bit Error Monitor and testing BER of high-speed fiber optics communication.Week eight, nine: experiment of CWDM system.Focus on understanding of principles of CWDM and testing of performance index ofCWDM system. Assessment:Students are expected to complete lots of experiments on fiber optics communication.Assessment is conducted mainly through students' experiment reports. Every report is required to cover the experiment's operation details. Also, students' attendance is required and reports should be submitted once a week. Textbook and Reference:1. 教学大纲

第1周,主题:预备知识。内容:光波导理论概要;光纤和光缆工艺简介。第2周,主题:光电子器件和测试设备。内容:光电子器件原理和工艺;光纤通信测量设备简介。第3周,主题:光纤的熔接。内容:光纤的基本处理方法和仪器设备;光纤熔接仪的使用;光纤熔接实验。第4周,主题:光电子器件/子系统的光谱测量。内容:光学光谱分析仪的原理和使用;宽带和窄带光器件/子系统/光源的谱特性测试。第5周,主题:精密光学发射仪基本实验。内容:精密光学发射仪基本原理和使用;利用精密光学发射仪进行光纤和器件长度精密测量基本实验。第6周,主题:可调谐光源(可调激光器)和波长解调(演示)实验。内容:可调谐激光光源原理与使用方法;光纤光栅波长调制与解调实验。第7周,主题:高速误码仪演示实验。内容:高速误码仪的原理与使用;高速光纤通信系统误码性能测试。第8、9周,主题:CWDM系统实验(1)和 (2)。内容:CWDM光纤通信系统原理;CWDM光纤通信系统性能指标与测试实验。
