Abstract: The history of luminescence nanomaterials is longer than 20 years and it is now a good time to consider their applications for new development. In this presentation, I will mainly introduce a new concept for designing nanocomposites for radiation detection, and then, present two new scintillation nanomaterials that we invented for radiation detection. Here I also want to introduce some new applications of luminescence nanoparticles for food safety that includes the detection of minor water, ethylene, pesticides, bacteria and other biological pathogens. In the end, I will briefly mention our research for using luminescence nanoparticles for photodynamic activation on cancer treatment and possible applications for vision recovery.
