个人简历 1968年毕业于上海复旦大学生物系生物化学与微生物专业。
1978年考入复旦大学研究生师从薛应龙教授，
1980年受国家教育部派遣赴美国肯塔基大学植物病理系师从SJ Sheen和JG Shaw 教授从事植物病毒TMV和TVMV分子生物学和相关病生理生化研究，获硕士和博士学位。
1985年在美国罗氏公司罗氏分子生物学研究所师从DL Nuss博士，从事植物病毒WTV的分子生物学博士后研究工作。
1989年，在中国科学院上海植物生理研究所继续从事植物病毒的分子生物学研究。“八五”以来得到国家“863”、国家自然科学基金委、中科院、各部委和上海市各项经费资助。
现主要从事植物病毒基因表达调控机理的研究；利用病毒载体在植物反应器内表达重组蛋白的应用研究；极端环境生物盐藻的分子生物学研究转化、与盐藻耐盐相关基因的分离及其功能研究。
历任植物分子遗传国家重点实验室主任、中科院上海植物生理研究所副所长、常务副所长、中科院植物生理生态研究所所长、中科院上海生命科学研究院副院长、上海交通大学生命科学与技术学院副院长（兼）和中国植物生理学会理事长等职。
现任十届全国政协委员、九三学社中央委员和上海市委委员、上海市特约检察员。2003年起任上海大学生命科学学院院长。
