1985年毕业于四川大学生物系,获学士学位
1991年毕业于中国科学院成都生物研究所,获硕士学位
1995年毕业于德国柏林自由大学(FU Berlin),获博士学位
1999年获德国洪堡奖学金,在德国从事博士后研究
2001年在新西兰奥塔哥大学(Otago University)植物系、2003年在瑞士巴塞尔大学(Basel University)植物系进行访问学者研究
研究方向高山植被生态学、高寒草地生态学、高山林线生态学、山地恢复生态学、游牧地理学
