Biography
Professor Li Gang obtained his BS degree in Space Physics from Wuhan University (1994), MS in Electrical Engineering and PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from Iowa State University, U.S.A. (2003). His postdoctoral research in University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) from 2004 to 2007 was on polymer solar cells and LEDs. From 2007 to 2011, he oversaw the printable polymer solar cell R&D in Los Angeles based Solarmer Energy Inc. Professor Li has a good mix of academic and industrial experience. He was a Research Associate Professor in UCLA before he joins The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in August 2016.
Professor Li’s research interests are organic semiconductor, and organo-metal halide hybrid perovskite based thin-film optoelectronic devices. He has published >130 journal papers, which have been cited over 58000 times, H-index 71 (Google Scholar). He has been recognized by Web of Science (Thompson Reuter/Clarivate Analytics) as a Highly Cited Researcher since 2014 (Materials Science 2014-19; Physics 2017-18; Chemistry 2018).
