Short Description
Sangdi received his Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace engineering) with Class 1 Honours from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He then went to The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia to undertake his Doctorate. His PhD project - “Mars entry afterbody radiative heating: an experimental study of nonequilibrium CO₂ expanding flow” - contributed to knowledge for designing future Mars entry vehicles. The project involved collaboration with the Aerothermodynamics branch at NASA Ames and, consequently, Sangdi was hosted as a visiting researcher there in early 2017. After completion of his PhD in 2018, Sangdi went to the RWTH Aachen University in Germany where he worked as a postdoc. During this time, Sangdi was hosted as a visiting researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China during which he gave an invited presentation at the Institute of Mechanics.
