Profile
Dr. Catherine Chi-Chin LAM served as Consultant Paediatrician of Child Assessment Service (CAS), Department of Health until 2014 and currently works at CAS responsible for training and service development. Dr. Lam is a paediatrician with an interest in developmental paediatrics and the neurobiological basis of developmental and learning disorders. After graduation from the University of Hong Kong Medical Faculty and obtaining her Membership in Paediatrics from the United Kingdom Royal College of Physicians, she pursued subspecialty training in child neurology and developmental paediatrics at various institutions including the Child Assessment Service of Hong Kong, Albert Einstein College of Medicine of New York and the Department of Neurology of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lam holds Fellowship Degrees from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Lam promotes attention to children and individuals with developmental disabilities through working with professional, non-governmental and parent associations. Dr. Lam is an active participant in cross sector collaborative work and related policy issues. Over the past years, she has worked with many medical professional bodies and was a founding member of the Hong Kong Society for Child Neurology and Developmental Paediatrics. From 2008 she led the formation of a Subspecialty of Developmental-Behavioural Paediatrics (DBP), resulting in its accreditation as a Paediatric Subspecialty in 2013 under the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians and Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. She is the current Chair of the DBP Subspecialty Board. Dr. Lam is active in joint activities in DBP between Hong Kong and the Mainland of China. She is a founding member of a charitable organization for helping children with learning and attention disorders in Hong Kong.
