Prof. Donald Choi is the Executive Director and CEO of Chinachem Group. Driven by a deep-seated belief that design, innovation and technology can make the world a better place for all, Donald is worker of the built environment. Before joining Chinachem Group, he was the Managing Director of Nan Fung Group, and a Director of Foster and Partners. He has worked on a large number of high-profile public and private projects worldwide.
Alongside his professional career, Donald is active in community services and has held multiple leadership roles in NGO and professional bodies that focus on community, design and innovation. He is the President of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects and The Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design, the Convener of Greater Bay Area Urban Designer Alliance, the Chief Curator of the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale Hong Kong Exhibition, the Board Chairperson of the Construction Innovation and Technology Application Centre, a Board Member of the Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Green Building Council, the Business Environment Council and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. Donald is a Trustee of Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), has taught at the University of Hong Kong and is a former Chairman of the Architects Registration Board, HKSAR.
