呂愛平，香港浸會大學中醫藥學院院長、講座教授，香港浸會大學岑堯寬岑碧泉紀念癌症炎症研究中心主任、香港浸會大學整合生物信息醫學和轉化科學研究所所長、香港浸會大學疼痛聯合研究中心主任、中國中醫科學院首席研究員。是國家****基金獲得者。是國家自然科學基金委員會醫學部諮詢委員會委員, 國家藥典委員會委員，全國科學技術名詞審定委員會中醫名詞術語委員會副主任委員, 國際標准化組織-TC249 中方Mirror Committee 主席。曾任中國中醫科學院臨床基礎研究所常務副所長（法人代表）、中國中醫研究院基礎理論研究所所長、江西本草天工科技有限公司（中藥固體制劑製造技術國家工程研究中心）董事長。
長期從事中醫證候分類治療類風濕關節炎的基礎和新藥研發工作。曾獲衛生部有突出貢獻中青年獎和中國標準突出貢獻獎。發表學術論文500 餘篇，其中包括Nature Medicine, Biomaterials, Briefings in Bioinformatics, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Scientific Reports, Journal of Proteomic Research 等 SCI 收錄論文近200 篇。獲PCT和國家發明專利60 余項。編寫著作30 餘部。先後在Ohio State University、Lund University、香港科技大學和香港理工大學做訪問學者，多次受邀在國際學術會議上做特邀報告。
