李敏教授,為香港浸會大學中醫藥學院副院長、中醫學學士及生物醫學理學士(榮譽)學位及中醫學碩士學位課程主任及高智明伉儷柏金遜症研究中心主任。李敏教授1985年大學本科畢業獲得醫學學士學位,1988年獲得醫學碩士學位,1998年獲得日中醫學會笹川醫學獎學金留學日本,2001年獲得西醫學博士學位。李敏教授於中國大陸、日本和香港從事中醫臨床、教學和研究工作近三十年,曾先後從師於中國大陸著名中醫專家鄧鐵濤教授、熊繼柏教授。2007年李敏教授獲得由中國中醫藥學會頒發的“全國首屆傑出女中醫師”稱號,2013年獲得香港浸會大學優秀教師獎。李敏教授目前主要從事神經系統退行性疾病包括柏金遜症和阿氏海默症的中醫臨床治療與基礎研究工作。李敏教授的課題組先後開展了中藥複方治療柏金遜症、阿氏海默症的隨機對照雙盲的臨床研究,從中藥中篩選小分子天然自噬誘導劑治療神經退行性疾病的分子藥理研究及治療神經退行性疾病的中藥新藥研發工作。
目前,李敏教授課題組的研究方向為:(1) 中藥複方治療柏金遜症和阿氏海默症的隨機雙盲對照的臨床研究和中西藥合用的相互作用及安全性研究;(2) 中藥複方、提取物和中藥活性組分的神經保護效果和作用機制的研究; (3) 中藥複方、提取物和中藥活性組分保護心腦血管內皮細胞的藥效及作用機理研究。具體資訊可以瀏覽李敏教授的實驗室主頁:http://cpdr.hkbu.edu.hk
