Dr. Kelvin HN WAN graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a number of awards, scholarships, and distinction.? During his specialist training, he was nominated and is mentored by Professor Dennis Shun-Chiu Lam under the Academic Development Mentorship Scheme of the Academy of Asia-Pacific Professors of Ophthalmology and received the Best Self-Initiated Project and the Overall Bronze Medal Awards.? ??His clinical and research interests focus on cornea & refractive surgeries, complex cataract & lens surgeries, ocular surface disease, and glaucoma.
Dr. WAN has published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals including The Ocular Surface, Ophthalmology, and JAMA Ophthalmology. In recognition of his work, he received the Japanese Ophthalmological Society International Young Investigator Award, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Best Original Research by Trainees Bronze Medal, New Territories West Cluster Outstanding Published Paper Achievement Award and Young Researcher Published Paper Achievement Award, Top Downloaded Paper in Acta Ophthalmologica Award, The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) International Travel Grant, and the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) 60th Anniversary Yasuo Tano Travel Grant.
Dr. WAN is also active in international service.? He serves as an Editorial Assistant for the Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology and is a member of its COVID-19 FAQs Editorial Board.? He is also an associate ophthalmologist of Orbis in their Flying Eye Hospital project.

Cataract surgery: optimizing the accuracy and precision of refractive outcomes
Ocular surface disease: epidemiology, risk factors, imaging, novel therapy, surgical treatment of dry eye disease and allergic eye disease
Keratoconus and corneal ectatic diseases: early identification and treatment
Glaucoma imaging: improving early diagnosis and detecting progression
