This two-year programme is research-oriented. It aims at training communication specialists who plan to pursue further studies, or to become media professionals, executives, researchers, consultants, government officials, etc. Students are required to complete a minimum of 21 units, in addition to a thesis, in order to graduate.

Applicants from any discipline may apply. Preference will be given to applicants with a solid background in social science and well-developed research interests in journalism/communication. All applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of 580 (or computer-based score of 237, or internet-based score of 92) or a minimum IELTS score of 7.

Applicants are required to furnish proof of their research potential in form of:

1. a research proposal;
2. three letters of reference from academic sources; and
3. good undergraduate academic records.
