摘要Purpose/Objective: Objectives 1. To identify the palliative care needs of pediatric cancer patients and their families 2. To develop a set of clinical indicator to demonstrate the important area of care.

Background/Rationale: Palliative care for pediatric patients and their families is underdeveloped worldwide and in Hong Kong.

Description/Methods/Evaluation: A concept mapping approach uses a qualitative method to identify themes and then uses quantitative techniques to create a map that shows the patterns of relationships between themes. Phase 1 of the study was to conduct qualitative interview and identified the palliative care needs of 6http://aims.cuhk.edu.hk/converis/portal/Publication/0 pediatric cancer patients and their families. Sixty health care professional and healthy volunteers were also interviewed. Phase 2: Following the sorting of the statements of needs identified in phase 1, the phase 1 participants were asked to rate the importance of each statement of need. Outcomes and analysis Phase 1 data was analysed by content analysis. Phase 2 data was analysed by multidimensional scaling and cluster analysis.
Outcome/Results/Findings: Four thematic categories were identified including the current clinical situation, unique PPC needs, suggestions of best practice and barriers in the delivery of PPC. A final list of 2http://aims.cuhk.edu.hk/converis/portal/Publication/0 clinical indicators was established based on the categories and subcategories.

Conclusion/Discussion: A set of clinical indicators will contribute significantly to clinical care planning and benchmarking.

Implications for Nursing: It contributes to the development of a seamless service delivery model that integrates acute care and palliative care in paediatric oncology nursing.
