主要研究领域：多模态研究、社会符号学、系统功能语言学、翻译研究。
截止目前，承担国社科项目2项，湖南省哲社科项目1项，湖南省学位与研究生教育改革研究项目1项，湖南省教育厅研究精品课程建设项目1项，湖南大学研究生精品课程建设项目1项。发表中英文学术论文20余篇。出版英文学术专著1部，译著2部。
前期发表成果涉及语言学（Lingua）、翻译研究（Target）、话语分析（Text & Talk）、多模态研究（Visual Communication和Social Semiotics），在跨学科研究领域积累了一定的学术经验。积极参加国内外学术会议近20次，与国内外****保持着良好、稳定的合作关系。
