对微生物多糖的合成机理、合成调控开展持续性研究。在野油菜黄单胞菌中发现了一些调控胞外多糖(黄原胶)合成的新途径、新机理及一些与胞外多糖合成有关的新酶类。如:克隆和鉴定了一簇(包含3个基因,XC_3813-3815)与胞外多糖合成有关的新基因,有关的研究论文已发表在微生物学国际主流刊物《Microbiology(SGM)》 (2007)。从野油菜黄单胞菌中鉴定了一个腺苷激酶与胞外多糖合成有关,这是在国际上首次从黄单胞菌属细菌中鉴定到该酶的存在,该酶过去一直被认为广泛存在于真核生物而不存在于原核生物,相关论文已在微生物学国际权威刊物《Journal of bacteriology》(2009)发表。研究了糖代谢相关基因对黄原胶合成的影响,发现野油菜黄单胞菌的多个糖代谢相关基因在胞外多糖合成过程中具有独特的作用,相关工作已在《Microbiology(SGM)》发表研究论文2篇(2007,2009)。发现了一个转录调控因子以独特的方式调控胞外多糖合成相关基因的表达,研究论文在国际刊物《Scientific Reports》(2016)上发表。另外,我们还分离到黄原胶高产野生型菌株,构建了2株黄原胶高产基因工程菌株,并优化一套黄原胶发酵工艺。 对植物病原菌的致病机理开展持续性研究,获得多项原创性成果。以十字花科黑腐病菌(Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, Xcc)为研究模型,对其III型分泌系统的表达调控机理进行深入研究。在Xcc中鉴定和研究了一个双向调控III型分泌系统表达的转录调控因子,这是国际上首次发现植物病原菌的一个转录调控因子能够依据环境的变化,正向和负向调控III型分泌系统的表达,研究论文已在分子植物病理学国际权威刊物《Molecular Plant-Microbe Interaction》(2011)上发表。在国际上首次鉴定了一个调控III型分泌系统的双组分调控系统感受蛋白组氨酸激酶,研究论文已在微生物学/环境科学的国际权威刊物《Environmental Microbiology》(2014)发表。在黄单胞菌属病原菌中发现了一个新的III型分泌系统装置蛋白,研究论文已发表在《Scientific Reports》(2017)。近年,发现黄单胞菌中拥有一个具有ATP酶和磷酸酶活性的双功能蛋白,并发现其磷酸酶活性能够影响Xcc的III型分泌系统的表达。这是国际上首次发现植物病原细菌的磷酸酶能够调控的致病性,相关研究论文已在《Environmental Microbiology》(2018)发表。上述相关的研究工作也已获得了3 项国家发明专利。 近年来,已在国际主流刊物发表SCI论文26篇,其中第一作者或通信作者11篇。获得发明专利5项,其中第一完成人2项。作为主要人员(第三)完成的项目《十字花科黑腐病菌III型分泌系统的调控及效应子研究》,获得了2016年度广西自然科学一等奖。发表的研究论文:1.
