预防兽医学专业的动物传染病学与分子免疫学方向主要研究对象是猪肠道病毒,包括猪流行性腹泻病毒(PEDV)、轮状病毒(RV)、猪传染性胃肠炎病毒(TGEV)等,研究这些病毒的的发病机理和免疫调节机制,探讨宿主与病原体的相互关系,研发快速诊断方法及疫苗。
