荆志淳 教授
南方科技大学社会科学高等研究院特聘研究员
1994 年获美国明尼苏达大学考古学博士学位，之后曾在明尼苏达大学、哈佛大学和威斯康星大学担任博士后和研究职位。2002 年至今担任加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学东亚考古加拿大研究讲座教授。荆志淳曾在中国、希腊、美国从事考古调查与发掘，是中国河南两个主要的青铜时代城市（商周宋城和洹北商城）的直接发现者之一。1997年以来，荆志淳主要在晚商都城殷墟从事国际合作研究。主要研究领域包括中国早期城市和国家、殷商文明、地质考古、古代技术等等。先后撰写、编著（包括合著）论文和论著七十余篇。

JING Zhichun, Professor

Prof. Jing obtained his PhD in Interdisciplinary Archaeology from the University of Minnesota in 1994. He subsequently held postdoctoral and research positions at the University of Minnesota, Harvard University, and University of Wisconsin, Madison. Since 2002, he has served as Canada Research Chair in Pacific Asia Archaeology in the Department of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. Prof. Jing has conducted fieldwork in China, Greece, and the United States. He and his collaborators were directly responsible for the discovery of two major Bronze Age capital cities: Great City Song (Shang to Eastern Zhou periods) and Huanbei Shang City in Henan, China. Over the past two decades, he has primarily been involved in a long-term international research collaboration at Yinxu, the capital site of the late Shang dynasty. Professor Jing’s areas of interest include the archaeology of Shang civilization, early urbanization, geoarchaeology, and ancient technologies. Professor Jing has published more than 70 articles and books (singled authored and co-authored).
