研究领域与方向 1985年从医学院毕业后参与江汉平原地区马来丝虫病传播规律研究，经过三年的现场流行病学观察发现人群微丝蚴率在1.55～2.31%、微丝蚴密度15～22mf/120μl 之间时，马来丝虫病传播自然消亡。此发现为我国制定消灭丝虫病政策提供了科学依据，并于1994年获湖北省科技进步奖。此后致力于重大传染病、重要公共卫生问题的流行病学和政策研究，为科学决策提供理论依据。2001年开始与清华大学合作，将社会学、人类学、法学等相关学科引入到艾滋病防治领域，从而推动了我国艾滋病防治工作的深入开展。
