李向阳,男,汉族,1962年10月生于江西省莲花县。CNPC物探重点实验室首席科学家,中国石油大学(北京),博士生导师。1978 - 1982年在长春地质学院学习,获学士学位。1982 - 1984年在华东石油学院北京研究生部,获硕士学位。1984 - 1987,留华东石油学院东营校本部,任勘探系讲师。1988年选派英国留学,任英国地质调查局(BGS)访问。同年获英国环境资源研究委员会(NERC)博士生奖学金,1991年获英国爱丁堡大学博士学位。1992年任职于英国地质调查局,历任副研究员、研究员、高级研究员、首席研究员、特聘高级首席研究员、研究室主任。2007年 - 2010年,任英国爱丁堡大学多波地震学教授。
李向阳教授是国际知名地球物理学家,地震各向异性理论著名,多波地震勘探和裂缝预测专家。李向阳教授领导的爱丁堡各向异性研究室(EAP)是国际知名学术研究联合体,从事地震各向异性、多波地震勘探、裂缝预测长达30年之久,是全世界唯一的一家以地震各向异性为研究主题的国际学术创新团队,获得多家国际石油公司的持续资助,针对地震各向异性理论及在石油勘探开发中的应用作了广泛的研究,在重大国际会议和国际权威学术杂志发表论文200多篇。
李向阳教授与学术界和石油工业界一直有着长期的合作关系,曾于2007年荣获中华人民共和国国际科学技术合作奖。自2009年开始,以中国石油大学(北京)为牵头单位,联合东方地球物理公司、川庆钻探工程公司、中石油勘探院西北分院等多家单位,在多波地震勘探与裂缝预测的基础理论、方法技术、软件产品、现场应用方面开展攻关,形成了一只产、学、研、用相结合的人才队伍。李向阳教授在“十一五”、“十二五”、“十三五”期间负责了国家科技重大专项课题,并承担了国家自然科学基金、中石油集团公司项目等多项科研项目,带领团队曾获得SEG杰出成就奖、国家科技进步奖及省部级科学技术奖等多项科技奖励。
