主要开展猪流感病毒、流行性乙型脑炎病毒等猪重要传染病的研究，探究宿主先天性抗病毒反应的机制以及病毒的逃逸机制，发现新的免疫调节分子和抗病毒药物靶标分子，研发新型诊断技术和疫苗。主要内容包括：（1）动物病毒天然免疫应答和病毒逃逸机制的研究；（2）p53分子抗病毒作用分子机制的研究；（3）乙型脑炎病毒致病和生态传播机制；（4）新型抗病毒制剂、诊断技术和疫苗研发。主持转基因重大专项、“973”计划课题、公益性行业项目课题、国家自然科学基金等国家、省部级科研课题多项，发表学术论文90多篇，其中发表SCI论文30多篇，累计影响因子100多分。
