长期从事环境系统工程、环境信息学、环境规划与管理、流域水环境过程模拟优化与集成管理、环境影响评价、总量控制与节能减排、重大环境污染事故预警与应急响应、水华预警与应急响应、低碳技术与全球气候变化等方面的教学与科研工作。在环境承载力、区域规划环境评价、总量控制与排污许可证、多尺度环境风险区划以及流域集成管理等方面有独到的见解。曾主持973、863、科技支撑与国家自然科学基金及部委科研项目50余项,获省部级成果奖6项。在国内外优秀期刊发表科技论文120余篇,其中被SCI、EI与ISTP三大检索系统收录60余篇,出版学术专著10余部。
