主要开展生物质资源与海洋资源的开发与利用研究，主讲《酶工程》、《食品工程原理》等课程。近年来，主持与参与的项目有浙江省重大科技专项、国家自然科学基金、浙江省自然科学基金项目、浙江省基础公益研究计划项目、浙江省浙江省重大招标项目、浙江省重点科研项目等科研项目，在《International Journal of Biological Macromolecules》、《Food Science and Technology》、《Biomass and Bioenergy》、《Transactions of the Asabe》、《太阳能学报》、《中国食品学报》、《中国油脂》和《食品科学》等国内外期刊上发表论文四十余篇。
