个人简介
Michael Galea received the Ph.D. degree in electrical machines in 2013 from the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, U.K. He was appointed as Lecturer in 2014, as Associate Professor in 2018 and as Professor in Electrical Machines and Drives in 2019, all with the University of Nottingham. He is currently the Head of School of Aerospace, University of Nottingham Ningbo China, where he is also the Faculty Director for Research and Knowledge Exchange in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. He currently lectures in Electrical Machines and in Aerospace Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Aerospace Systems Integration. His main research interests include design and development of electrical machines and drives (classical and unconventional), reliability and lifetime degradation of electrical machines and the more electric aircraft. He manages a number of diverse projects and programmes related to the more/all electric aircraft, electrified propulsion, and associated fields. He works across all the main application fields including transport (automotive, marine, aerospace) and industrial, but with a main focus on the more electric aircraft and the aircraft of the future. He sits on the Industrial Electronics Society – Electrical Machines Technical Committee (IES-EMTC) and is a special advisor to the UK’s Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) for the More Electric Aircraft (MEA). Michael is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Senior Member of the IEEE and sits on the Executive Board of the UK Magnetics Society.
