In 2009, Justin came to Ningbo to teach at Xiaoshi High School, and subsequently taught various ESP courses, such as English for Economics (Daxie Government) and English for Logistics, Engineering and Business (Preh Joyson Automotive Electronics). Last year, he served as the first Director of Language Studies for the Juilliard School of Music’s new campus in Tianjin.
As a musician, Justin has taught and performed repertoire spanning the Medieval to Baroque eras. He taught organ, harpsichord and piano at Centre College (Danville, KY), was guest chapel organist at Duke University, has performed at China’s National Pipe Organ Museum (Gulangyu, Xiamen), and has served as the Executive Director of Orgelkids China, a non-profit that introduces students to pipe organ design, which made use of his experience as a builder with Gober Organs, Inc. In 2018, Justin orchestrated the acquisition and restoration of a 1908 Hinners pipe organ, from Portsmouth (New Hampshire, U.S.A) to Ningbo, for which he was awarded the UNNC Vice-Chancellor’s Medal.
