现为天津大学精密仪器与光电子工程学院教授博导,专业方向为光纤激光技术及太赫兹光子学,负责高端光纤激光器和光学太赫兹新技术的研究。美国应用光学编辑(Topical Editor of Applied Optics),美国光学学会会士(OSA Fellow),现担任光学与光电子学国际会议CLEO中太赫兹技术与应用委员会委员,担任国际会议Photonics West中非线性光学委员会委员,中国光学学会激光专业委员会委员,拥有美国发明专利2项。发表100多篇以上科技论文,国际学术会议邀请及会议报告80余次。其中负责的项目有:
